Miss the call. Keep the job.
You are under a house with your hands full. QuoteBack texts them back, works out the job, and quotes it from your own price book.

Why you are losing work you never hear about
You cannot answer it. That is the whole problem.
- 01
It rings when your hands are full
Up a ladder, under a sink, in a roof cavity, halfway through someone's switchboard. The phone goes at the one moment you cannot get to it.
- 02
They do not leave a message
They ring the next bloke on the list. You climb down an hour later to a missed call and no idea whether it was a tap washer or a bathroom.
- 03
So it answers for you, in your name
It works out what they need, prices it from your own book, and books it in. You find out when it is already a job in your calendar.
You never have to pick up the phone to keep the work.
What happens when you cannot pick up
Everything else takes a message. This gives them a price.
Whoever answers when you cannot, the caller ends up with the same thing: a promise that somebody will get back to them. Meanwhile the only person in your business allowed to put a number in front of a customer is you, at nine at night, from the ute.
- VoicemailA beep
- An answering serviceA message, and your phone still to ring
- Whoever is free to grab itA guess you then have to honour
- QuoteBackA price, off your own rate card
It is not an answering service. It is the one job you have never been able to hand to anybody.
You set the line
You decide what it is allowed to price.
Every business already has this rule. Yours is in your head, or in whatever you once told the apprentice. Here it is a number, and you pick it.
5 of these 8 book themselves. 1 comes to you on the ceiling. 2 are never priced at all.

Eight jobs out of the four demo price books, at book value with the call-out on top. The comparison running as you drag is the one the engine runs: under your ceiling it books, at or over it hands the job to you.
Working out what the customer wants is the model's half, and that needs a server, so it is not running on this page. Deciding what happens to the number afterwards is arithmetic, and that is the half under your thumb.
The ones it will not touch
It knows a $55,000 job when it sees one. It still will not price it.
The ceiling is only the last rule. Before a job ever reaches it, the work you told it never to quote is already on its way to your phone, with the address and the timing taken.
- Blue Line PoolsIn the book$55,095
They said“gday, after a price on a new pool. concrete one, about 8 by 4 in the backyard”

Three jobs, three different rules, and not one of them a number in front of a customer.
The figures are what those jobs are worth in each demo price book. QuoteBack never said them to anybody: it recognised the job, took the details, and handed the whole thing over.
How many rang out last week?
Not a statistic I made up. Put your own numbers in and see what the week looked like.
$0
of enquiries that reached your voicemail instead of you
$265,200 across a year
Your figures, not mine. Not every missed call is a job, and I am not claiming QuoteBack turns them all into one. This is only what rang out.
By the time you check your phone, it is a job.
Not a voicemail to return. Not a name and a number on a notepad. A work order sitting in your system with the address, the price, the time and the whole conversation attached to it.
You had not looked at your phone yet.

What it will not do.
The useful question is not whether it can be wrong. It is what happens at the edge of what it knows.
Money
- Quote above the limit you setinsteadYou get the figure and the decision
- Invent a priceinsteadEvery figure comes from your own book
- Promise a time your diary has not agreed toinsteadIt offers what your calendar allows
Judgement
- Put a price on a job with a hazard in itinsteadIt stops and reaches a person
- Chase a customer who has told it noinsteadThe thread ends there
- Record your calls, or keep call audioinsteadThere is no audio to keep
Your phone is going to ring out again this week.
The only question is whether that bloke gets a price from you, or from whoever picks up next. Getting your rates in takes one call, and you can do it from the ute.
What the first session is
- 01Your rates, line by lineWhat you do and what you charge for it.
- 02Your limits and your rulesWhat it may quote alone, and what it must never price.
- 03You are the customer firstYou send it the awkward ones before anybody real does.
- 04Nothing is a black boxEvery decision recorded against the rule that produced it.
There is no signup button, because a price book cannot be filled in by a stranger. This is an implementation, not a subscription.
One bloke built it and one bloke answers the phone, which is why you get a mobile number instead of a ticket queue. Your price book stays your own file and you can export it whenever you want it. The rules that set your prices are written down in code, not carried in somebody's head, so they do not walk out the door with a person.
